Somebody comparing products on a review directory is further along than almost any other visitor you get. They have a budget, a shortlist and a deadline.
The listing format gives you a logo, a description, some screenshots and reviews you do not control — and a website link, which is the only thing you actually own.
Everything else on the listing is fixed by the directory or written by your customers. The outbound link is the one decision entirely yours, and most vendors point it at a homepage written for cold traffic.
That is a mismatch. This visitor already knows what category you are in — they are choosing within it. Send them somewhere that shows the product rather than introduces it.
Directory screenshots are usually uploaded once at launch and never revisited, so many listings show a version of the product that no longer exists.
Refresh them when the UI changes. It is unglamorous work and it is being read by people about to make a shortlist.
Directory visitors convert at a different rate from search traffic because the intent is different, so it is worth tracking separately rather than lumped into referral traffic.
Use a distinct landing page or link parameter, and measure it on its own. If it performs, it justifies effort on the listing that is otherwise impossible to argue for.
