This policy covers the Demorta web app (demorta.com), the Demorta Recorder browser extension, and demos published through either. It does not cover third-party sites you record a demo of -- Demorta only captures what your own browser can already see on a page you visit.
The Demorta Recorder extension only captures anything while you have actively started a recording. It takes a screenshot or an HTML snapshot of the page each time you click, and nothing else -- it does not run in the background, does not read pages you have not clicked record on, and does not send anything anywhere until you click record. Captured screenshots and snapshots are uploaded to Demorta's storage (Cloudflare R2) and associated with your workspace.
When you create a workspace, we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (or, if you sign in with Google, your Google account ID -- we never see or store your Google password). This is used to authenticate you and to send account-related email, such as password resets.
Screenshots, HTML snapshots, narration audio/video, and any text or branding you add to a demo are stored so the demo can be played back. A demo is only visible to people you share its link with, unless you explicitly leave it unlisted or password-protect it.
Viewing a demo records anonymous usage (which steps were seen, whether it was completed) so the creator can see how their demo performs -- this is not tied to your identity unless the demo has a lead-capture gate and you submit your email, name, or company, in which case that information is shared with the demo's creator.
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Demorta never sees or stores your full card number -- Stripe handles that directly and shares back only what's needed to display a plan and manage your subscription.
We don't use third-party analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. The extension has no code from any analytics or ad network.
You can delete a demo, remove your recordings, or close your account at any time from the dashboard. To request a full export or deletion of your account data, use the contact form below.
