A model summarising a topic lifts fragments. If your best sentence only makes sense with the two before it, it cannot be lifted.
These are the structural choices that make a page extractable, all of which happen to make it clearer for readers too.
Not after the context, not after the history of the category. If the page is called "what is X", the first sentence should define X.
Building to an answer is a narrative technique that works in essays and fails in reference material, which is what most search traffic wants.
Three to five questions phrased the way a person would type them, each answered completely in two or three sentences with no reliance on the article above it.
This is the single highest-value structural change, because an FAQ answer is already the shape of an extracted quote. Mark it up with FAQPage schema so search engines can read the structure too.
Numbers, limits, named trade-offs. A page that could not be contradicted is a page that said nothing, and vague copy is skipped by summarisers because there is nothing to carry away.
This also disciplines the writing: a claim specific enough to quote is a claim you have to actually stand behind.
