Every agency has written a handover document, and every agency has answered questions it already covered.
The problem is not the document. It is that reading instructions is a poor way to learn an interface.
A twenty-step handover demo will be watched once and never referenced. Five short demos, one task each, get opened months later by whoever inherits the account.
Name them for the task in the client's words — "Add a new team member", not "User management" — because that is what they will be searching their inbox for.
The workaround, the fragile step, the thing that needs care. It is tempting to leave these out of a handover because they are not flattering.
Documenting them is what stops the 9pm message, and clients respect it. An undocumented quirk becomes your fault the first time it bites.
Often not the person you worked with. It is the person who replaces them in eighteen months and finds a link in an old email.
That is an argument for demos over a call recording: a demo stays current if you re-record a step, and it can be handed on without context.
Click through it — the same kind of demo you can record of your own product.

Five demos on the free plan, forever. No credit card, no trial countdown, no sales call. Install the Chrome extension, click through your product once, and you have a shareable link in about ten minutes.
