Interactive Demos With Lead Capture

August 19, 2026

Capturing an email from someone who watched your demo is legitimate and valuable. They are more informed and more interested than any other visitor you have.

Where the form goes decides whether you get those people or scare them off before they become them.

Three places the form can go

  • Before the demo. Highest friction, lowest volume, and the leads are people who already trusted you. Usually the wrong trade for a cold audience.
  • Partway through, after the value is visible. The strongest option for most products -- they have seen enough to want the rest.
  • At the end. Lowest friction, best completion, and you only capture people who finished. Right when the demo itself is doing the selling.

Match the position to the traffic

Cold traffic -- social, a launch post, an ad -- should not meet a gate. These viewers have no relationship with you and infinite alternatives one swipe away, so a gate converts close to nobody and costs you the awareness you paid for.

Warm traffic, such as your pricing page or a follow-up email, can carry a mid-demo gate comfortably. They already know who you are.

Ask for less than you want

Every field costs you completions. Email alone converts substantially better than email plus name plus company plus role, and you can enrich or simply ask later in the conversation.

If your sales process genuinely needs company size before a call, ask for it after the email is captured, on the thank-you step. You already have the thing that matters.

What you get on Demorta

Lead capture is on the Growth plan at $39.99 a month, alongside narration, branching and quiz steps, drop-off analytics and a second seat. It is not on the free or Starter plans.

Being direct about that is the point of this article: if lead capture is the reason you are here, Growth is the plan, and the free plan is still the right way to test whether your demo holds people long enough to be worth gating.

Frequently asked questions

Where should the lead capture form go in an interactive demo?
For most products, partway through, after the value is visible -- the viewer has seen enough to want the rest. Put it at the end for cold traffic, and avoid the start entirely unless your audience already knows you.
Should I gate a demo shown to cold traffic?
No. Viewers from social, ads or a launch post have no relationship with you and alternatives one swipe away, so a gate converts almost nobody and wastes the awareness you paid for. Capture later, from people who return.
Does Demorta include lead capture?
Yes, on the Growth plan at $39.99 a month, together with narration, branching and quiz steps, advanced drop-off analytics and a second seat. It is not included on the free or Starter plans.
