The Best Interactive Demo Software for Startups

August 28, 2026

Most "best demo software" lists rank the same ten products for everybody, which is not useful, because the correct answer at two people and at fifty is genuinely different.

A startup is optimising for three things nobody with a budget cares about: cost per seat, how fast a demo gets made, and whether the thing keeps working when money is tight.

Prices checked on each vendor's own pricing page on 27 August 2026. They move often -- confirm before you buy, ours included.

What actually matters at this size

  • Time from idea to published demo. If it takes an afternoon, it will not happen twice.
  • Cost per seat, because the second and third person will need one sooner than you think.
  • Whether published demos survive a downgrade. A demo embedded on your site that dies with the plan is a live outage.
  • No engineering dependency. Your one developer is not spending a sprint on a demo.

What does not matter yet

CRM integration, account reveal, SSO, multiple workspaces, whitelabel URLs. Each is a real feature and each is priced for a company with a sales operations function.

Buying a tier for features you will use in two years is how a startup ends up paying $625 a month for a demo.

The shortlist, by what it costs

  • Supademo -- free plan allows 5 guided demos; Scale is $38/mo per creator ($50 undiscounted). A reasonable middle if you want branching and analytics early.
  • Arcade -- free plan allows 1 published demo; Growth is $42.50/mo per seat ($50 undiscounted). Strongest if AI-assisted production and shareable clips are the point.
  • Storylane -- free plan allows 1 published demo; Starter is $50/mo with +$50 per seat. The sales-motion features are real but start at $625/mo on Growth.
  • Demorta -- 5 demos free with embedding and no expiry, $15.99/mo for unlimited, HTML capture on every plan. Ours, so weigh it accordingly.

The free-plan trap

Two of the free plans above allow exactly one published demo. That is fine for evaluating and useless for operating: a startup usually wants one demo on the homepage, one for a specific campaign, and one to send in outreach.

Check that number before you invest a day building on a plan you will have to leave immediately.

How to actually decide

Build the same real demo — your product, the flow you would genuinely publish — in your top two. Not a toy demo. An afternoon spent doing this beats every roundup, including this page.

Then price the tier you will be on in six months, with the seats you will actually need, and pick from there.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best interactive demo software for a startup?
The one that gets a demo published fastest at a per-seat price you can carry as you grow. At seed stage, CRM integration, SSO and account reveal are features priced for companies with a sales operations function, and buying a tier for them is how a startup ends up paying enterprise rates for a demo.
Are free demo tools enough for a startup?
Sometimes, but check the published-demo limit first: Storylane and Arcade free plans allow one published demo each, while Supademo allows five and Demorta allows five with embedding included. One demo is enough to evaluate a tool and not enough to operate with.
How do I choose between demo tools?
Build the same real demo -- your product, the flow you would actually publish -- in your top two, then price the tier you will be on in six months at the seats you will really need. An afternoon of that beats any roundup.
