A demo people finish and then do nothing about is frustrating, and it is a better position than it feels — you have their attention, so the problem is downstream of interest.
Four causes are worth checking, roughly in this order.
The most common and the easiest to fix. A viewer finishes, meets a blank screen or a "thanks for watching", and goes back to wherever they came from.
That final moment is the warmest you will get. One clear next step, matched to what the demo answered, with the friction spelled out — "Start free, no card, five minutes" rather than "Get started".
A demo showing what your product does, to someone who wanted to know whether it handles their specific case, is informative and unpersuasive.
Check what your sales calls and support tickets say people actually ask before buying. If the demo is not answering that, it is a well-made demo of the wrong thing.
Cold social traffic, a launch spike, an ad audience — these people watch out of curiosity and leave. That is normal and not a demo failure.
Judge a demo against the traffic it gets. A demo on your pricing page and the same demo in a launch post are two different experiments, which is why they need separate links.
The uncomfortable one, and worth considering seriously. A demo that clearly shows your product and produces nothing may be doing its job perfectly by disqualifying people quickly.
That is a real service: those people were never going to buy, and finding out in 60 seconds beats finding out on a 30-minute call. If your demo is disqualifying, the fix is upstream in who you are attracting, not in the demo.
The end screen, because it is one edit and it is the most common cause. Then look at the drop-off chart to see whether people are really finishing or just reaching the last step.
Change one thing at a time. Two changes at once and you learn nothing from either.
