Transport and logistics software has two demo problems at once: the screens are dense, and the workflows span days. Neither fits comfortably into a walkthrough.
The result is demos that either show a table nobody can read or a happy-path shipment that no dispatcher believes.
A dispatch board with twenty columns is legible on a 27-inch monitor and unreadable in an embedded demo on a laptop. Shrinking it to fit produces a screenshot that communicates nothing except that your product is busy.
The fix is zooming into the region that matters for the step being explained, rather than showing the whole board and hoping. A viewer only needs to read the three columns the step is about.
A load is booked Monday, picked up Tuesday, delivered Thursday, invoiced Friday. Demoing that honestly means compressing four days into ninety seconds, and the compression is where credibility leaks -- statuses jump in ways they never do in real life.
Better to show the transitions the operator actually touches, and let the elapsed time be implied. A dispatcher knows how long a lane takes; they are watching what happens when it goes wrong.
Dispatchers judge clicks and keyboard speed -- they live in the product all day and will notice if a common action takes four clicks. Operations managers judge exception handling and reporting. Owners judge whether it reduces headcount or fuel spend.
Drivers are usually not in the room and determine whether the rollout succeeds, which makes the mobile side worth showing even when nobody asks.
One demo per role, each short. Dispatch board for dispatchers, exception handling for ops managers, a cost report for the owner, the driver app for the rollout conversation.
Zoom deliberately on every step that involves a table. It is the single change that most improves a logistics demo, and it is the one most teams skip.
