Record a page and the first thing in shot is often a consent dialog covering a third of it, a chat bubble in the corner, and a bar announcing a webinar that happened last month.
None of them are part of your product, all of them are in your demo, and the first step is the one most people actually see.
Consent dialogs reappear in a fresh profile, so a demo recorded in a clean browser gets one every time — which is exactly the browser you should be recording in for everything else.
The practical answer is a dedicated browser profile you record in: consent accepted once, extensions off, bookmarks empty, logged into the demo account. Setting it up takes ten minutes and removes this problem permanently.
A banner already in a screenshot can be blurred, but blurring it draws more attention than the banner did. Re-recording that one step is usually faster than making the blur look deliberate.
On an HTML capture the element is genuinely still in the page, so removing it in the editor is clean rather than a patch over pixels — one of the few cases where the capture mode makes a real difference to a fix.
Attention is highest on step one and falls from there. A first step that is half consent dialog spends the only moment where everyone is still watching on something that is not your product.
If you fix one thing in an existing demo, fix that step.
